Protective Behaviours Ireland
The Protective Behaviours Process takes a practical approach to personal safety and links safety with fun, excitement and an adventurous approach to life.
This is achieved by helping people learn to recognize their personal concept of safety and identify and trust their intuitive feelings (early warning signs).
Alongside this, individuals are encouraged to use the strategies within the process to develop problems-solving skills and networks of support so that decisions can be made for ourselves, but not necessarily on our own.
Protective Behaviours is therefore a process that seeks to improve communication skills, build resilience, develop self-confidence and raise self-esteem.
When applied, it empowers people to make safer behavioural choices that satisfy the need for fun and excitement without violence and fear.
